(She/Her/Hers)

I am passionate about learning and I love hearing people’s stories. I enjoy watching children learn to write and express themselves and communicate their truth. My own personal experience has shown me that the idea of limitations is often false — many are self-imposed. I believe nothing is decided until we try. Everything is alive and evolving.

My Story

While I began teaching yoga in 2002, I was brought to the practice of Reiki and Urban Zen Integrative Therapy in 2016 when my 19 month old daughter (who was born with Down syndrome) was diagnosed with leukemia.

She was battling leukemia and as her mother and advocate I was as well. Her chemotherapy treatments lasted over 2.5 years. The first year of her treatment we lived in the hospital for over 100 days.

During that time, I witnessed how much care my daughter required, as well as the immense toll the day-to-day care of long-term patients took on nurses and care givers.

I wanted to use my experience of caring for a child with special needs and a life-threatening illness to support and engage with others on their healing journey.
