Meet Our Team

Hannah Ernst, LPCC

(She/Her/Hers)

I practice Ways of Being, Ways of Understanding and Ways of Intervening. My way of being is very person-centered, humanistic and warm. I meet people where they are, I listen without shaming, and I am direct and forthcoming. I seek to first understand the origin of an unwanted behavior and then assess effective ways to intervene.

My Story

I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. When I was seven and my grandma was rehabilitating from surgery, I spent a lot of time with her, listening. She suggested that I should be a therapist and I guess it stuck with me ever since.

After grad school, I had an interest in working with eating disorders and accepted a position in residential treatment at The Emily Program. Working in residential gave me experience of working with a multidisciplinary team. It taught me to roll with the punches, and after working in such an intense 24/7 setting, not much phases me anymore! I also learned so much and continued to specialize in disordered eating. I am passionate about helping other heal their relationship with food, treat their body with respect and unpacking diet-culture beliefs.

I have a lot of training and experience in DBT, which is what prompted Kevin and Danuta to reach out to me in 2020 about joining CCG. In addition to treating clients, I currently help with assessing people on the waitlist for our Standard DBT Program who have been endorsed for an eating disorder. I am also trained in EMDR and utilize this to treat trauma, and to help facilitate long-term eating disorder recovery.

I value showing my authentic self in session – quirks and all, and encourage my clients to do the same. I am so passionate about my work and I cannot imagine doing anything else.
