Meet Our Team

Jamie Martin, LDN, RDN

(She/Her/Hers)

I take the approach of all foods can fit. I don’t have judgments against food — we can make anything work in your eating pattern. There’s no such thing as a good food or a bad food. I want people to embrace accepting their body at whatever size it might be. I encourage body acceptance, then body neutrality and eventually body acceptance and body positivity.

My Story

I’m a registered dietician, which is a great fit for me because I love the combination of science and education. I was a picky eater growing up and people were always telling me I wasn’t eating “right.” As an athlete, I had some teammates that were struggling with disordered eating and I learned later that this was more psychological than nutrition-based.

I’ve worked with adolescents, adults and elderly adults in general hospitals, children’s hospitals, and private levels of care. I currently work with clients who have disordered eating, general nutrition concerns, or want to balance out their diet.

My approach is individualized to the person. I like to see how the client is feeling about their time with me, to understand the work they’re doing with other therapists (to assess any transferrable skills like coping), to understand any dietary limitations, and to problem solve with them to see how my recommendations may fit into their lifestyle.

The process is very much on the client’s timeline — rushing someone into change they aren’t ready for is neither reasonable nor effective.
