Meet Our Team
Meredith Thorn, LSW
(She/Her/Hers)
“I specialize in trauma-focused care, recognizing the significant impact of untreated trauma on mental health. My therapeutic approach centers around healing trauma legacies. I deeply respect each person and see therapy as a partnership. Healing trauma legacies resembles a rigorous climb up a mountain, where the path to the top is often unclear. Old protective strategies may hinder progress. My role is to climb alongside individuals, determining necessary gear, building endurance, and ascending together. I value individuals regardless of religion, race, gender, or sexual identity.”
My Story
I became a therapist because I have a strong passion to see people reach their goals, experience deep meaningful relationships, feel freedom to take up space in this world and experience healthy connection, empowerment and healing.
I have a variety of experiences and interests that have shaped my journey, both personally and professionally influencing how I ground my practice. I utilized a relational approach, emphasizing a trauma and attachment-focused framework. I strongly believe that repair and healing can happen within the therapeutic relationship which allows individuals to move through grief and loss, experience co-regulation and be with difficult emotions allowing healing to take place.
I specialize in complex, developmental and relational trauma and dissociation. I also specialize in adoption and enjoy working with all members of the adoption triad. As part of this community, I am able to provide a shared language with my clients! I also recognize that each individual has their own unique experience. I am fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Level 1 trained in Deep Brain Reorienting (DPR). I am DBT-Informed & I incorporate mindfulness, polyvagal interventions, elements of internal family systems and somatic therapy. My practice is rooted in diversity and I am dedicated to providing gender affirming care.
