Meet Our Team

Natalie Doughty, LPCC-S

(She/Her/Hers)

I try to provide a safe place for my clients to process their struggles as a non-judgmental person. I love sharing tools to help them in their journey. I truly believe every day is a new beginning, and I work with my clients to always help them remember to take a breath, smile and it’s okay to start again after every day.

My Story

I’ve been in the mental health field since 1995. I have a diverse background in mental health services spanning over 29 years. My experience includes working with community mental health, crisis intervention for children and adolescents, counseling individuals with substance use issues, as well as facilitating groups for parole, probation, and DUI offenders. During my tenure at a juvenile facility for 15 years, I designed and implemented a cognitive-behavioral program. Transitioning from there, I dedicated my focus to supporting foster children and newly adopted youths, initially within a private adoption agency where I provided therapeutic interventions. For the past five years, I have served as an office manager and therapist in a private practice in Southeastern Ohio. Now, I’m excited to bring my expertise to Columbus Counseling Group.

I believe a therapeutic relationship is essential and everyone is a person of worth. I meet clients — who are struggling with anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, parent child and family conflicts, self esteem and self worth difficulties along with trauma and PTSD — where they are at in their journey and assist them in their healing process.

I employ a variety of therapeutic approaches in my practice, drawing from my intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), client-centered, family systems, trauma-informed, and polyvagal techniques. I actively participate in a consultation group for DBT, valuing ongoing learning and collaboration. Feedback is welcomed, and I prioritize listening and learning from others without defensiveness or disregard. My commitment to my clients and passion for this field underscore my dedication to providing effective and compassionate care.
